Plot
In the ancient kingdom of Mahishmati, a woman holding a baby fell into a waterfall and breathed her last, but before she died she held the baby with one hand over her head. The baby was rescued by local villagers and adopted by Sanga (Rohini) and her husband. Named Shivudu, (Prabhas) he grows into a strong youth, a curious adventurer about the waterfall and the land outside. After finding a wooden mask on the ground, he was encouraged to find the owner of the mask and managed to climb the waterfall. The mask belonged to Avanthika (Tamannaah), a rebel fighter from a group led by the Devasena brothers who were involved in guerrilla warfare against Emperor Bhallaladeva (Rana Daggubati) of Mahishmati to rescue their former queen Devasena (Anushka Shetty). Avantika was given the chance to save the queen. He fell in love with Shivudu after learning that he climbed the waterfall for him. Shivudu promises to help him in his mission and slip into the Mahishmati to save Devasena.
Sivudu managed to escape with Devasena, but was pursued by the sons of Bhallaladeva, Bhadrudu (Adivi Sesh) and slave-soldier Kattappa (Sathyaraj). After Shivudu chop off Bhadrudu's head, Kattappa dropped his gun, realizing that Shivudu is Mahendra Baahubali, son of the late king Amarendra Baahubali. He tells the story of Amarendra's past. Amarendra's father had long since died, while his mother died in childbirth. His uncle Bijjaladeva (Nassar) is considered unfit to govern because of his crooked nature, but he is convinced he is rejected by the throne due to the fact that one of his arms is disabled. Bijjaladeva's wife, Sivagami, took over the kingdom with the help of Kattappa until a new king was elected. Amarendra grew up together with Bijjaladeva and Sivagami's son, Bhallaladeva. The two young men were trained in art, science, disguise, politics, and war, but they had different approaches to the kingdom. While Amarendra was kind and loving to his compatriots, Bhallaladeva committed violence and achieved his goals by all means.
It was discovered that Mahishmati was about to be attacked by a wild soldier called Kalakeyas. Bijjaladeva proposes that the prince who kills the Kalakeya king, Inkoshi, will be the future king of Mahishmati in which Sivagami and the chief minister agree. Inkoshi rejected Sivagami's peace offer and insulted him by saying he would have children with him. An angry sivagami ordered that his limbs be cut off and his body be fed to the vultures. While Bhallaladeva uses the advanced weapons provided by Bijjaladeva, Amarendra uses simple but effective tactics. When Amarendra was about to kill the king, Bhallaladeva swung his weapon from a distance and killed him. Sivagami announced Amarendra as the new emperor even though Bhallaladeva killed the king due to the fact that he protected and protected his own citizens during the war.
When asked about Amarendra's current whereabouts, the tearful Kattappa reveals that Amarendra died, and that he was the one who killed him.

Production
Baahubali: The Beginning is produced at Tollywood, the Telugu-language film center in India. In July 2015, the film series is considered the most expensive in India.
Development
KV Vijayendra Prasad, father of SS Rajamouli and Baahubali writer Baekubali: The Beginning has revealed that he was inspired by the heroic introduction sequence of the 1967 Kannnada film, Immadi Pulikeshi, based on the life of the king of Chalukya , Pulakeshin II and hence are inserted in the same order. He further reveals that the core storyline - in which one brother is not given the throne because of his disability causing hostility between relatives of blood - was also partly inspired by the film. In February 2011, S. S. Rajamouli announced that Prabhas will star in his upcoming movie. In January 2013, he announced that the title of the work as Baahubali and the actual film production began at Rock Gardens in Kurnool on July 6, 2013. The waterfall scene in the film was shot at Athirappilly Falls in Kerala, a large set for the Mahishmati empire was built at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and the snow episode in the film was shot in Bulgaria. The screenwriter, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad who wrote the story for most of Rajamouli's movies, once again wrote the story for Baahubali. The film boasts one year of pre-production work in which in 15,000 storyboard sketches for the highest created films for every Indian film to date. More than 90 percent of the film has a visually enhanced image and, according to the producer, more than 600 VFX artists work for films from 18 facilities worldwide led by Makuta VFX and Firefly in Hyderabad, Prasad Studios in Hyderabad and Chennai, Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, Tau Films in Malaysia, and Dancing Digital Animation and Macrograph in South Korea. Makuta VFX who had previous experience working with S.S.Rajamouli was selected as the premier visual effects studio. This film cinematography was done by KK Senthil Kumar for 380 days using Arri Alexa XT camera with Master Prime lens which marked the first film of Rajamouli using digital camera.
Most of the films are taken in ArriRaw format in 4: 3 aspect ratio while ArriRaw 16.9 is used for slow motion at 120 fps. Open Gate format, which can use the full 3.4K sensor in the camera to produce larger frames than the standard ArpRaw tapped format to get maximum image quality in VFX shots. For the first time in Indian films, 4K films are made with an aspect ratio of 1: 1.88 compared to Cinemascope at 1: 2,35 to get the best cinematic experience on screen that supports the 4K projections claimed by the Producer. Sabu Cyril, the production designer for the film creates 10,000 different weapon types ranging from the swords, helmets, and armor required for the soldiers. To make the sword light, carbon fiber is used instead of steel, the same material used in the manufacture of a helicopter blade that is claimed as art director. The 3D printing technology is used to create the 100-foot head character Bhallaladeva in film and flexi foam is used to create amours for light and has a skin look. V. Srinivas Mohan was chosen as the watchdog of visual effects and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao was Editor. PM Satheesh is the sound designer and Peter Hein is responsible for the sequence of actions. Costume designers are Rama Rajamouli and Prasanthi Tipirneni. The producer of the line is M. M. Srivalli.
Visual effects
National Award winner V. Srinivas Mohan is tied up as a visual effects watchdog for Baahubali. The film offers 90% of CGI work that accounts for 2500 VFX shots. Makuta VFX based outside Hyderabad was selected as the premier visual effects studio and is responsible for more than 50% of computer-generated imagery in the film. Much of the work done by Makuta involves bringing mystical waterfalls 1500 feet to life, creating huge mountains and great landscapes including the Mahishmati kingdom, with large temples and courtyards. Creating a giant waterfall takes almost 2 years because Makuta has to deal with a lot of complexity in fluid dynamics and simulations. Each frame involving a falling water sequence is treated as making a new set and using a different set of methodologies, Makuta claims.
The Hyderabad-based Firefly Creative Studio works primarily on avalanches and war sequences that account for nearly 25 minutes of film. Firefly Creative is also involved in making VFX underwater shots and in building backstories for Kalakeya characters. Tau Films from Malaysia is responsible for creating the CGI bison, while Prasad EFX from Hyderabad is responsible for multiple shots in pre and post-combat episodes involving digital multiplication. Prasad is also responsible for creating Kattappa 3D images and mapping his head to a duplicate actor in one scene.
Srushti VFX from Hyderabad was involved in making multiple shots digitally in battle sequence along with Firefly studios. Annapurna Studios from Hyderabad was selected as the digital between partner for the film responsible for producing the best-quality digital and colored audio feed for editing. For the first time in Indian films, the Academy Color Coding Academy workflow is implemented in conjunction with Unlimited Information Storage which can be remembered by remembering the mammoth scale of digitally enhanced images in movies. Arka Media Works, a production company of Baahubali, is working with AMD to use state of the art FirePro GPU W9100 and W8100 during post-film production that is able to deliver 4K content in real time and is considered the best in the Industry to date.
Reacting to media reports on the same VFX team for Baahubali and Jurassic World, producer Shobu Yarlagadda denied any such collaboration, calling such claims an internet rumor. In an interview with Quartz, co-founder of Makuta VFX stated, "Most of Baahubali is developed in Hyderabad, home to Tollywood, and uses local talent, it's mainly a homegrown feature generated by homegrown talent."
Kilikili language
The fictitious Kilikili language (also referred to as Kiliki) is used as the language of Kalakeyas - a fierce warrior tribe, created by Madhan Karky for the film. It is said to be the first fictitious language created for Indian movie characters.
While Karky is pursuing a PhD in Australia, he takes part-time teaching jobs and caring children. During such an interaction, he thought it would be fun to create a new language that could be easily understood. The first word is created and the opposite is represented by a word reversal - I am min and you are nim . The language that introduces 100 new words is called "Clicks" to highlight its simplicity. It forms the foundation for Kiliki.
- Kilikili consists of at least 750 words and more than 40 concrete grammar rules
- It was designed to be an intuitive language - Karky says he uses hard consonants and soft consonants depending on the nature of the word's meaning.
- Language was created keeping in mind that the Kalakeya warriors should be described as a scary rough creature.
- The language sounds the same in all versions - Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam - from Baahubali .
Music
Rajamouli's cousin M. M. Keeravani composed music for the film and voice control was performed by Kalyan Koduri.

India
Deepanjana Pal of Firstpost called it "Rinnouli de force de tour," calling it "complicated, choreographed and [having] some amazing moments." Prabhas and Dagubatti are both in their element as warriors approaching war in two different styles. The outcome of the battle was not surprising, but there were tactics and intelligent bends sufficient to make the audience hooked. The biggest surprise, however, lies in the last shot of the film, which gives you a glimpse into the sequel that will come out next year. "Saibal Chatterjee from NDTV India ranked the film with three stars out of five and stated," The spectacular universe popularized by the movie is full of magic, but the greater character of life that fills its incredible expanse including within the known mythical landscape. To that extent, Baahubali, driven by an exciting titular superhero of astonishing ability both in love and in war, throws a lot of surprises that are totally meaningless. "
Shubhra Gupta from The Indian Express praised the movie: "Right from the opening frame, 'Baahubali' stretched out many promises: adventure and romance, love and betrayal, courage and weakness. And it gives very well to each other, The Baahubali 'is really spectacular. "In his review for The Hindu, Sangeetha Devi Dundoo wrote, " The war formations that make up the last piece of the film are the best we've seen in Indian cinema so far, these sections are spectacular and show the technical expertise of the cinematographer (KK Senthil Kumar) and the visual effects team. The waterfall rivers, mystical forests and water bodies on the cliffs and the main couple who escaped from an avalanche all added to the spectacle.Give into his magic, without drawing comparisons with Hollywood movies. "
Sukanya Varma from Rediff gave the film four out of five stars, calling it 'mega, clever and envelope pushing!'. Critic Archita Kashyap with an office at Koimoi also gave a similar assessment, "Whether it's a war sequence, or a sword fight, or a visual spectacle, or pure entertainment worth a watch.Kudos for the dedication of SS Rajamouli and his people , Prabhas and Rana, for years putting the film together. In fact, in his imagination and India, Baahubali may be a new beginning. "Rachit Gupta from Filmfare gave a movie of four stars (out of 5) and summarized, " Baahubali is really an epic experience. If the story is not so tired, it will 'have gone into history books as a classic of all time. But that does not happen This has a series of storytelling errors, but even they are overshadowed by the ideas and executions of Rajamouli. It definitely deserves to be the most expensive Indian film, a definite movie-watching experience. "
Suparna Sharma of the Deccan Chronicle praised the second half of the film, writing, "Rajamouli has ordered all the pretentious and pretentious for later, after the interval, that's when the movie stands and begins to buff like an epic." Suhani Singh from < i> India Today shows that this movie is best enjoyed by keeping the logic at bay. He added, "SS Rajamouli and his team put on an exciting wild wild adventure, needed to understand the world as seen at Baahubali and to pull it at a level that is on par with international standards.Almost 45 minutes of fighting in the end is not just one of the biggest climaxes, but also the spectacle that is rarely seen in Indian cinema, and if Rajamouli can present another like that in part 2, then he is on track to register his name in the history books of the cinema We can not wait to visit back Mahishmati kingdom. "
Critical acceptance written by Shubha Shetty Saha for the Middle Day rated the movie with four stars coming out of the movie, exclaiming, "While watching Baahubali , you may have to periodically take your jaws off Because this is not just a movie, it is a tremendously thrilling fantasy journey. "This review praised its aspects," It is for the director's credit that every aspect of the film - its action, its design and its choreography is confusing - lives up to the epic film scale this gigantic choreography in a song that has an uncomfortable Shiva, Avantika to make it related to her female side, is an absolute gem. " Overseas
Critics praised the film for its direction, technical values, and performance of actors. Lisa Tsering based on The Hollywood Reporter wrote, " The story has been told many times before - a child born destined for greatness and as a man defeats evil forces - but in full hands confident of South Indian director, SS Rajamouli, this story gained a strong new life at Baahubali: The Beginning. "Allan Hunter, writing for Screen Daily notes that" The Sweep -the wide brush of the director's brush for the slow-motion series is one of the film's failures, but it's still a lively, accessible movie, and there are rarely boring moments in Baahubali: The Beginning, part of the gung-ho, Telugu-language epic a very pleasant one that has destroyed box-office footage across India. "
Mike McCahill of The Guardian rated the movie four stars out of five, praising the movie, "Rajamouli survives the last for now, but his skillful choreography of these elements removes the cynicism that might be brought to Screen. : wide-eyed and stunning eyes, the movie could be a blockbuster reboot, or the first blockbuster ever made, the reactivation of the ever-entertaining, and often thrilling, archetypes to be seen. "Suprateek Chatterjee from The Huffington Post wrote, However, all said and done, Baahubali: The Beginning is a remarkable achievement. What Rajamouli has done here, regardless of his shortcomings, is nothing less than a miracle, especially when you consider the famous filming environment risky in India and when the movie ends on the teasing cliffhanger (paving the way for Baahubali: Conclusion , due to the next release of the year), someone tid ak can not clap on an incredibly brave vision. As a cliche, the journey of a thousand miles should begin with a single step, but it does not matter if the first step falters as long as it lands firmly and confidently. "
