Dance Theory is the philosophy that underlies contemporary dance, including formal ideology, aesthetic concepts, and technical attributes. This is a fairly new field of study, which developed mostly in the 20th century. It can be considered as a branch of expression theory and closely related to music theory and especially musicality. While musicality deals with finding dance pairs and music that match each other in many ways, dance theory is a broad term that includes origins, styles, genres, footwork, artistic expression, etc. of dance.
The three major categories of dance theory, as you may find described in a university or dance institution, are philosophy (about the aesthetic meaning behind dance, or semiotics), choreology (analysis and description of movement), sociology (on the role of dance in society and culture).
Dance theory deals with anatomical movements (such as leg work, etc.), as well as partner interactions, and their associations with each other and music as art. It explores the communicative, physical, mental, emotional, and artistic aspects of dance as a medium of human expression and interaction. In doing so various nuances between genres and dance styles are analyzed in connection with their social settings and culture.
Because dance is an ubiquitous cultural element, dance theories try to determine the instinctual nature of dance, and what makes the movements seem natural or enforced.
is possible through understanding including writing and drawing dance in scope to understand that all dances are based on natural body movements which are the movement of the joints of the legs and feet and fingers, dance theory is based on the founding principles which are the spheres and body lines to acquire and shows and demonstrates how the dance is performed which movements should be performed by which movement at which speed so hypothetically it is possible to draw and arrange dances by using spheres and arrows, etc. to build a dance and a routine begins with examples. examples and widespread, many dance books state how this is done.
