Einstein for Beginners , republished as Introducing Einstein , is a 1979 graphical study guide for Albert Einstein and written relativity theory by Joseph Schwartz and illustrated by Michael McGuinness. The volume is, according to the publisher's website, "funny, disrespectful, sophisticated and accessible," and, "the perfect introduction to Einstein's life and thought."
"This," said Leonardo's reviewer, Conklin, "is not just a book explaining Einstein's scientific work, but a mixture of history, politics, and science." Where, according to Professor Paul Thagard's "Science for the People" reviewer, "Einstein's work is related to the emergence of the electric industry and the subsequent development of the atomic bomb."

Reception
Professor Paul Thagard, writing in Science for the People, described the book as "understandable and entertaining," while Henry McDonald, writing in the Washington Post, described it as " well illustrated and thoroughly researched ".
"Almost half the book," according to Nan Conklin, wrote in Leonardo, "is devoted to telling Einstein's early life and its influence on him." "His discussion of the political environment in which Einstein's discovery was made." according to McDonald, "informative."
"The images and the words have a clear aroma of comic books," according to Conklin, but that is, "only when the author begins to explain Einstein's theory that the use of odd presentation modes seems justified." McDonald describes, "the presentation of the invention itself is a bit less inspired," while Thagard also praised the authors as, "very inventive in using funny illustrations and funny sides to lead beginners through difficult concepts."
While Conklin speculates that the publisher may have included volumes on Einstein in this series because of his belief, "the formation of socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system that would be oriented towards social goals," and McDonald asserted that the author, "Goes out of their way to emphasize [. Einstein's socialism, "Thagard is critical of failure to," develops social relations in a substantial way, "and concludes that volumes do not provide," the basis for discussion of the role of science in society.
