Ribbon is a rhythmic exercise component consisting of a handle (called a "stick"), ribbons and attachments.

Handle

It can be any color and made of wood, bamboo or plastic with a maximum diameter of 1 cm ( ² / ₅ ") on the widest, cylindrical or conical shape and should have a length 50-60cm (20-24 ") (including the binder ring). The lower end of the stick may be covered by an adhesive, anti-slip tape or may have a rubber grip for a maximum length of 10 cm (4 ") at the handle level.The top of the stick, in which the ribbon will be attached, may consist of:

1. a flexible strap (rope or nylon) mounted in place by nylon thread wrapped around a rod for a maximum of 5 cm (2 ").
2. metal ring attached directly to the stick.
3. metal rings (vertical, horizontal or oblique) mounted on a stick with two metal pins held in place by nylon or round metal wound wrapped around the stick for a maximum of 5 cm (2 ").
4. metal rings (fixed, moving or rotating) or flexible straps attached to a metal end of no more than 3 cm (1.2 ").

Ribbon

Ribbons are made of satin or other fabrics that are similar to any color, the ribbon can be colorful and have a design on it. The band itself shall be at least 35g (1oz), 4-6cm (1.6-2.4 ") in width and for the senior category of minimum length 6m (20 ') (5m (16.25') for junior).

The tape should be intact. The end attached to the stick is duplicated for a maximum length of 1m (3 '). It is sewn on both sides. At the top, a very thin amplifier or a seam machine line for a maximum length of 5 cm is allowed. This extremity can end up with a rope, or have a hole (small hole, edged with buttonhole or metal circle), to allow attach the tape.

Attachments

The tape is attached to a stick with a flexible complement such as a thread, nylon rope, or a series of articulated rings. The attachment has a maximum length of 7 cm (2.8 inches), not including a metal rope or ring at the end of the stick that will be tied.

Element

Compulsory elements for the ribbon include films, circles, snakes and spirals, and throws. High level coordination is necessary to form spirals and circles because any vertices that may be accidentally formed on the tape are punished. During the tape routine, large, smooth and flowing movements are sought.
