Shoshin (??) is a word of Zen Buddhism which means "bb" of the beginner's mind.It refers to having an attitude of openness, zest, and lack of prejudice when studying a subject, even when learning at an advanced level, such as beginners. The term is mainly used in the study of Zen Buddhism and Japanese martial arts.
This phrase is also discussed in the book Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shunryu Suzuki, a Zen master. Suzuki outlines the framework behind shoshin, noting "in the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, in the minds of experts there are few."
